Type Tray Fun

This is a section of a large type drawer I found awhile ago at the local swap meet. I've been having fun putting random things into the openings. Not with any thought of permanency - just to spark ideas and get the creative juices flowing. It's interesting to rearrange the items and see what the different juxtapositions bring to mind.

  1. Is there a decoder ring? The joy of wee things sorted and assorted. Did newspapers and print shops have to be invented so we could have type trays as their relics? It is easy to imagine small tiffs, what doesn't want to be next to what else (she makes me look flashy...) or to see each object possessing magical powers...what spell will I cast today. Thanks for a grand imaginary journey.

  2. Love those things.....and having a place for the tiny, "what do I do with THESE??!!" treasures is a great find!

  3. I found you via Marylinn's blog...I have a shelf on my bookcase for treasures I have found on the beach. That box would be perfect for displaying them! I like your blog, and would like to follow you. I grew up in Covina, CA from age 10 thru age 22. I too have stories to share of demoralizing Art teachers! I had one at Mt. Sac.
